Ships Immigration - A Commentary by Richard Lampman, PHD
"A list of the 1709er's ships appears in a book by C. Donald Chrysler, " The Blue-Eyed Indians ", about some of the Palatine descendants who fought for the British in the Revolution. The book was published in 1999 by Chrysler Books, 36920 Lakewood, Zephyrhills, FL 33541. Chrysler starts by describing how the 3200 or so Palatines got to New York, leaving "... England in the spring of 1709-1710 on 12 small ships.
The ' Lion of Leath ' was the first to arrive [in New York] on June 13, 1710. It was followed the next day by the ' Lowestoffe ', carrying the British magistrate, Governor Hunter. On July 7, the frigate ' Herbert ' wrecked off Block Island. Seven more ships arrived prior to July 10. They were the ' Fame', 'Mary', 'Hartwell', 'Baltimore', 'James and Elizabeth', 'Sarah', and the frigate, 'Tower '. The ' Midford' arrived after July 12 and the 'Berkley Castle' arrived on August 12, 1710. ..."
Another book about the Palatine emigration, " Early Eighteenth Century Palatine Emigration " by Walter Allen Knittle, Ph.D, shows the embarkation lists of Palatines leaving from Rotterdam, but no ships' names. Knittle omits the embarkation lists from England, and the [above] ships' names, but he and other historians say these lists are available in British [Board of Trade?] records."
At the Fort Klock website is a Windecker biography that states the family arrived on the Hartwell. As most documents make it seem that the Windeckers, Deckmanns, and Lampmans were together, it would seem reasonable that the Lampmans arrived on the Hartwell as well. This has not been proven.

Perhaps we should plan a tricentennial Family Reunion in 2010 in NY around Fort Klock or nearby.
