Richard "Dick" Lampman

Dick Lampman of Minnesota

Richard Allan Lampman was born in Wabasha, Minnesota in 1947. He was the son of Graydon Lampman and Nina Jacobson. Dick went to school in Wabasha, swam and played in the Misssissippi River as a young boy, and as he grew up. His favorite companion was "Goofus" his dog. The name pretty much says it all. Dick graduated from Winona State University at a young age.

Dick was a distant cousin who passed away May 26th, 2004. He was a Great friend to me; unselfish in his efforts to help me in all ways; and unknown to many people a Long Time Lampman reseacher. Dick was assisting other Lampman's find their heritage and rootsas early as the late 1970's. He provided this information on our joint families, as well as his research in Minnesota to Mr. Henry Kelly. The data Dick provided was added into Henry Kellys book, "Imprints on the Sands of Time", editions 3, 4 & 5.

For his efforts on Lampman family lines that Mr. Kelly was not knowledgeable of, we appreciate the tremendous talents of this man. I have met few people with the intelligence, conviction and patience of Dick and doubt I will again. Thanks to Scott Secore for providing his friendship to help Dick when he needed it most. I will surely miss his wit, humor and the knowledge he provided me during those times when I needed it most.

I dedicate this page and My Lampman portion of this website in memory of cousin " Dick Lampman" and Mr. Henry Kelly ", who both devoted their time to myself and others in search of their ancestry as well as ours.
They are "Gone but not forgotten."
